Don’t hesitate to incorporate seasonally available fruit in your smoothie. Seasonal ingredients are also more cost effective. Year round, smoothies are a great way to start your day. Fruit and vegetables are easy to digest, in fact, fruit digests in about an hour so it’s great for your digestion. There are many methods out there touted as hacks to remove the seeds (known as arils) from a pomegranate. I have tried many of them but I have found that they don’t take any less time and some methods are plain messy. I simply cut the pomegranate in half horizontally. I then break open one half at a time and remove the seeds by hand. I do this in the kitchen sink over a bowl to catch the seeds(and any pomegranate juice that flies). Discard the white flesh surrounding the arils as it is technically edible but very bitter.

Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend on high for 1-2 minutes or until smooth. Pour into 2 glasses and enjoy. I pour the second serving and pop it in the refrigerator for the next day.
