Namaste Foods Waffle and Pancake Mix
Why I love it: It’s pretty amazing when waffles and pancakes can come together in less than 15 minutes. The pancakes were light and fluffy without being starchy or gritty like so many other gluten free mixes I’ve tried. I love that they were sugar free as well.
Namaste Foods Egg Replacer
Why I love it: I have used other powdered egg replacement powders and this is the best one I’ve found. Like eggs in baking, it binds your ingredients together but also creates fluffiness and helps your baked goods to rise. I find that chia and flax eggs make certain baked goods too gummy and dense, so this product is a perfect alternative for all your gluten free baking creations!
Felicia’s Organic Pastas
I have had the pleasure of tasting and tasting five varieties of this pasta for months now. Here’s the ones I’ve tasted and incorporated into recipes:
100% organic Green Pea Rotini, Organic Multigrain Tortiglioni, 100% Organic Red Lentil Sedanini, 100% Organic Buckwheat Penne, 100% Organic Buckwheat Spaghetti
Having eaten a wide variety of Gluten Free pastas in my 20 plus years of eating wheat and gluten free, I have to say that Felicia organic pasta is definitely some of best GF pasta I’ve ever made. I have developed pasta recipes of all kinds with these pastas, from spaghetti with marinara sauce to andouille sausage and chard tortiglioni to crab and fennel sedanini to numerous pasta salads.
The taste and texture of their pasta is phenomenal. It comes out perfectly el dente, no mushiness, grittiness or weird flavour as is sometimes found with other GF pastas. After being refrigerated for 3 days in a pasta salad, it still held it’s beautiful texture and taste. Most gluten free pasta after being refrigerated becomes hard and crumbly and well, just plain awful. I love that their pastas are 100% organic and that they are produced in a dedicated gluten free facility in Puglia Italy. For those with celiac disease this fact is of vital importance.
I love that many of their pastas are also Grain Free, made with high protein organic lentils and Green Pea flour. So not only are they nutrient dense, but they’re also packed with plant protein.
Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides
Why I love it: I love that it acts as a protein powder in smoothies and other recipes. I am not a fan of protein powders both because of their taste and chalky and sandy texture. I love that this is not only great for my skin but for my gut.
Big Tree Farms Coconut Sugar
Why I love it: It is a natural and sustainable unrefined sweetener derived from the sap of the coconut blossoms. It is absorbed more slowly into the bloodstream and is low in fructose. I have been off white and processed sugars since 2007 and I am extremely sensitive to sugar but find I have no adverse reactions to it in moderation. It has a deep caramel flavour to it that works well in all recipes as a replacement for sugar.

Pocono Cream of Buckwheat
Why I love it: Increasingly I have become more and more grain intolerant so oats are no longer a go to option. I love porridge and this is such a lovely alternative to oats. Buckwheat is a seed related to rhubarb so it is technically not a grain and so I can tolerate it extremely well.
Why I love this product: I have always hated waste and have never been a fan of plastic. I love these reusable bags for their cheery designs and durability which allows you to carry everything from granola bars, to doggy treats to trail mix in them. Burrito Grill, Kimberley B.C
If you’re traveling through the beautiful Kootenay Rockies and happen to find yourself in the charming alpine town of Kimberley, be sure to stop in for a fresh lunch or dinner. They have all kinds of fresh Mexican inspired meal options. For those of us with corn allergies they offer a corn free teff tortilla as a replacement. Needless to say I was very happy with my teff quesadilla.
Railroad Pub and Pizza,
They serve the most delectable artisan gluten free pizzas, from Brussel sprouts and bacon to wild mushroom and fromaggio . The crust is one of the best I’ve tasted yet. Light and airy but with that wood fired brick oven crunch. While they don’t claim to be a gluten free facility they do take measures to try to avoid cross contamination, including a separate oven for their GF pizzas.
Frankie and Jo’s
Having not been able to have an ice cream cone in well over a decade, I was transported back to my best ice cream childhood memory with one bite. Frankie and Joe’s Plant Based ice creams are silky, creamy and utterly delicious. Incredible Flavour combinations will have you savouring every bite. Their freshly made GF oat flour based waffle cones taste like the real deal. A number of their ice cream flavours are sweetened with dates also. Believe me, you’ll be left wanting to take the whole freezer full of pints home with you.
