Theres something incredible about the combination of limes, blueberries and the brightness of lemongrass. This refreshing smoothie also has added protein of hemp hearts, an excellent source of essential fatty acids. Many enjoy adding bananas to smoothies however my husband is allergic to bananas and while I like bananas I find that their flavour really overpowers. Instead of bananas which may use to make a thicker smoothie, I use frozen vegetables. My favourite is frozen cauliflower. It has a very neutral taste and adds so much nutrition. I like to add dates for sweetness, iron and potassium content and for the high fibre content, antioxidants they offer. They are actually low glycemic index foods. However, you can certainly add liquid stevia in their place.
