Theres something incredible about the combination of limes, blueberries and the brightness of lemongrass. This refreshing smoothie also has added protein of hemp hearts, an excellent source of essential fatty acids. Many enjoy adding bananas to smoothies however my husband is allergic to bananas, and while I like bananas I find that their flavour really overpowers. Instead of bananas which many use to make a thicker smoothie, I use frozen vegetables. My favourite is frozen cauliflower. It has a very neutral taste and adds so much nutrition. I like to add dates or date syrup for sweetness, iron and potassium content and for the high fibre content, antioxidants they offer. They are actually low glycemic index foods. However, you can certainly add liquid stevia in their place. The antioxidant and anti inflammatory substances found in matcha green tea powder and blueberry powder are optional in this, however they will add even more health benefits and help give you a little more energy.

Place all of the ingredients in a high powered blender and blend for at least 2 minutes or until smooth. You can place one of the servings in a glass jar and place in the refrigerator for the next day. Enjoy!!
