Strawberry Milk(Paleo Vegan)

I would describe this milk as tasting like a healthy strawberry shake. This milk couldn’t be simpler and you can make it year round with frozen strawberries as I do. Or, in strawberry season use fresh strawberries for a burst of early summer strawberry delightfullness. If you use frozen strawberries make sure you thaw them the night before you are going to make them as this will make blending much easier. I make this milk with low glycemic grape nectar sweetener, however you may use the preferred liquid sweetener of your choice, from raw honey to maple syrup to liquid stevia. I did not find that I needed to strain the milk after blending, as the milk turned out perfectly silky and smooth. If you wish however you can strain through a fine mesh sieve. This recipe uses home-made walnut milk (link in recipe for both plain and chocolate walnut milk-just use the plain walnut milk). However, you can make this with your preferred home-made plant milk (from almond to oat to cashew to pumpkin milk) You may also make this with packaged plant milk of your choice. When I make this with packaged plant milk I use unsweetened macadamia nut milk (Milkadamia brand). Depending on what kind of plant milk you use you need to adjust the sweetener accordingly. Enjoy this milk just as is, with cereal or porridge for a fun, fruity and healthy breakfast, or with a few scoops of your favourite ice cream for a strawberry shake.

2 cups walnut milk or packaged plant milk, preferably unsweetened for packaged plant milk I use Milkadamia brand macadamia nut milk l
2 ½ -3 tbsp grape nectar or 1-2 tbsp raw honey or maple syrup
1 cup frozen, thawed strawberries or chopped fresh strawberries

Place all of the ingredients in a high powered blender and whir on high speed for 1-2 minutes or until smooth. You may strain milk through a fine mesh strainer if desired, however I find that my VItamix blender makes a very smooth and silky milk. Store in a sealed glass jar and shake well before serving.
