Here's another delicious antioxidant packed and refreshing way to use the season's fresh strawberries. This is also packed with fibre making it a low glycemic smoothie option. The peel of the lemon is full of bioflavonoids(antioxidant) and it's where most of the flavour comes from.
1 ½cupsfresh strawberries
1/2-3/4 cup non dairy milk
½lemon, seeds removed and cut into 8 pieces
11 1/2 inch piece of peeled fresh ginger root
3dates, soaked in hot water for 5 minutes and pitted
Place all of the ingredients in a high powered blender and blend for at least 2 minutes or until smooth.
