I love jam of all kinds but especially blackberry. This can be made with all berries, such as strawberries, huckleberries and blueberries. You can use frozen fruit just adjust the lemon juice and sweetener based on the sweetness & amount of liquid in the fruit. This jam is crazy easy and only lightly sweetened with maple syrup, however you can use any liquid sweetener of your choice. Chia seeds act as a thickener and add extra nutrition. The replace traditional jam ingredients such as sugar and pectin but they are undetectable. It freezes extremely well, up to 8 months.

Place berries in a medium saucepan and cook over medium heat for about 7-10 minutes or until they start to get syrupy
Remove from heat and stir in maple syrup and lemon juice. Adjust the maple syrup and lemon juice according to the sweetness of the fruit
Add the chia seeds 1 TBSP at a time, stirring well. Allow to thicken up for about 15 minutes or so. Place in glass jars and store in refrigerator for 7-10 days or freeze in glass jars for up to 8 months
