I love jam of all kinds but especially blackberry. This jam is crazy easy and only lightly sweetened with maple syrup. Chia seeds act as a thickener and add extra nutrition. It freezes extremely well up to 8 months.

Place berries in a medium saucepan and cook over medium heat for about 7-10 minutes or until they start to get syrupy
Remove from heat and stir in maple syrup and lemon juice. Adjust the maple syrup and lemon juice according to the sweetness of the fruit
Add the chia seeds 1 TBSP at a time, stirring well. Allow to thicken up for about 15 minutes or so. Place in glass jars and store in refrigerator for 7-10 days or freeze in glass jars for up to 8 months
