Chocolate Tahini Date Shake with chocolate drizzle (Paleo Vegan)

Yields2 ServingsPrep Time10 minsTotal Time10 mins

If you’re allergic to dairy like me, and your craving a shake (typically a shake is ice-cream based) but are looking for a little healthier way to satisfy your craving, you’ve got to try this! If you are allergic to sesame you can substitute peanut butter or sunflower butter in this dreamy shake. A great substitute for bananas in smoothies and shakes is frozen cauliflower. Don’t be scared off, It has a very neutral taste, unlike banana. My husband is allergic to bananas so I try to avoid it in my smoothies, plus I find it can be a bit overpowering. But if you prefer you can substitute frozen banana for the cauliflower.

 1 handful frozen cauliflower
¾ cup chocolate hemp milk or plant milk of your choice
4 -5 dates, soaked in hot water for 5 minutes then pitted
2 heaping tbsp sesame tahini 30-40 ml
  cup canned coconut milk/coconut cream
2 scoops plain collagen powder or plain protein powder
1 dropper full Astragalus tincture (optional)
 pinch of sea salt
¼ cup dairy and gluten free chocolate chips
 ½ tsp coconut oil
 fresh or frozen berries

Add all of the ingredients to a high powered blender and blend on high speed until smooth. Pour into 2 glasses. Enjoy both servings or save one of servings until the next day. Top with melted chocolate and berries if desired or dairy free whipped topping.

Melt chocolate chips and coconut oil over very low heat or melt in 10 second increments in microwave. Drizzle over shake and top with berries.
