Chocolate Blackberry Chia Shake (Paleo Vegan)

Need some breakfast inspiration in chocolate berry form that’s full of healthy fats, pro and prebiotics for gut health, fibre and protein and tastes just plain delicious, this one is for you! Oh and did I mention it is also tree-nut free. Typically bananas are added to smoothies, however I avoid them as my husband is allergic and I find that they make things that are not meant to taste like bananas, taste like well, bananas. I opt for frozen cauliflower as it is much lower and carbs, full of nutrition but also very neutral in taste. Dates are a great option for smoothies and are naturally low glycemic. They are full of dietary fibre and high in potassium and magnesium. Cacao nibs contain a measurable amount of caffeine, much like chocolate so you will get a little natural caffeine boost from this. They are full of disease fighting antioxidants. I cannot drink coffee but I can have a little caffeine in the form of cocoa nibs/chocolate. If you are sensitive to any caffeine you may want want to enjoy this before noon, or simply add extra cocoa powder in substitution for the cacao nibs.

 1 cup plain dairy free yogurt (or 3/4 cup yogurt and 1/4 cup plant milk of your choice)
 4 whole dates, pits removed
 1 tbsp cacao nibs
 1 ½ tbsp cocoa powder
 1 ½ tbsp chia seeds
 1 handful fresh or frozen blackberries/blueberries
 ¾ cup frozen cauliflower
 ½ cup unsweetened non dairy milk
 1 scoop unflavoured collagen powder

Add all of the ingredients to a high powdered blender and process on high until smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
